Josh Babb, MA

In his now-former role at HIDA, Josh Babb focused on communicating with Congress and federal agencies to help them make informed decisions on behalf of the healthcare distribution supply chain.

Josh developed strategic advocacy resources for members, and ran the HIDA annual Capitol Hill Fly-in where members meet with 100+ Members of Congress. He served as a speaker, facilitator and content expert on a range of legislative and regulatory policies with HIDA membership and industry-wide groups.

Prior to HIDA, Josh worked on Capitol Hill serving as a Senior Legislative Assistant for Representative Renee Ellmers (R-NC), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and with Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), the Senate Minority Whip. Josh has a BBA in Management from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, and earned his Master’s in Political Management from George Washington University.


Mary Beth Spencer
Director, Government Affairs
HIDA

Mary Beth Spencer joined HIDA early in 2016 to manage the preparation of HIDA's government resources, primarily researching and writing about current issues that affect members. She actively facilitates member contact on the Hill, liasing with legislators to coordinate meetings and schedules for HIDA's annual Washington Summit Fly-in.

Prior to HIDA, Mary Beth worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR), now Chairman of the Energy & Commerce Committee, former Chair of both the Subcommittee for Communications & Technology and the National Republican Congressional Committee. Mary Beth also directed the national fundraising efforts for Governor Linda Lingle’s 2012 bid for United States Senate in Hawaii, and performed policy research & analysis for Pfizer Inc. Mary Beth earned her BA in Political Science from Colgate University.
