About the Presenters

Josh Babb focuses on communicating with Congress and federal agencies to help them make informed decisions on behalf of the healthcare distribution supply chain. With HIDA since 2013, Josh develops strategic advocacy resources for members, and runs the HIDA annual Capitol Hill Fly-in where members meet with 100+ Members of Congress. He serves as a speaker, facilitator and content expert on a range of legislative and regulatory policies with HIDA membership and industry-wide groups. Prior to HIDA, Josh worked on Capitol Hill serving as a Senior Legislative Assistant for Representative Renee Ellmers (R-NC), a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and with Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), the Senate Minority Whip. Josh has a BBA in Management from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University, and earned his Master’s in Political Management from George Washington University.

Mary Beth Spencer joined HIDA in February of 2016 as Manager of Government Affairs. Prior to HIDA, Mary Beth worked on Capitol Hill for Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR), Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee and former Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Additionally, she managed the national fundraising efforts for Governor Linda Lingle’s 2012 bid for the United States Senate in Hawaii. Mary Beth earned her B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. Mary Beth is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Legislative Affairs at the George Washington School of Political Management.
